The transparency adapter on my Powerlook II 'broke'. Seems the thin
flat 'ribbon' cable containing 8 conductors, and connecting a small
circuit board on the rear of the adapter to a small circuit board on
the sliding light-mechanism jammed and actually pulled out of the
latter, damaging the cable's end slightly. The end is supposed to
connect into a small 1" rectangular receptor containing what look like
small wire-ends. The end does not seem to snap in not does it seem
that the receptor is made to clamp onto the end.

Has anyone had this problem? Fixed it? Replace the ribbon cable?
Where did you find a replacement?

    The cable is marked

    'SUMITOMO Y 9U AWM 20624 80C 60V VW-1 -F'

    Thanks

I think we are talking about the same thing - what I call a 'receptor
connector' contains what you call a 'jack'. Seems reasonable.
I see 8 ' little 'prongs' inside the black receptor connector, but see
no way to spread their 'teeth' so as to grab onto the ribbon-cable's
ends which would be great. You say to pull up on the sides of the
connector, but so far I have been unable to do that. I can pry up on
a side, but the entire connector want to raise up, which would be a
no no. I must be missing something here.
