Nice shot. Do they just let you out onto the tarmac to get these shots? Do
you get permission or an escort?

I think he meant that it's unusual to catch them all lined up like that. If
you have nothing useful or constructive to add, best not to say anything at
all. Care to point us to some of your pictures?

    Great shots Tony,

It always amazes me how a little hydraulic cylinder can open up the whole nose
    section.

But where are the larger photo's of your cockpit web site section.

    Michael.

Don't dish it out unless you can back it up. If you can't back it up, you
won't be taken seriously. I'm not knocking you, I'm giving you some serious
    advice.

Unusual does mean that this line-up of 4 Atlas Air a/c's ( 3 Atlas
registrated & 1 former Atlas Air a/c now sold to Air Atlanta) has never
happened before at Luxembourg Airport. That was for the first time ever.
Thank you Mike for your support.

Huh? So a photo of planes is not "photography"?

If you met a person in a bar and they said, : I just saw 4 Atlas Air a/c's (
3 Atlas registrated & 1 former Atlas Air a/c now sold to Air Atlanta) has
never happened before at Luxembourg Airport. That was for the first time
ever.", I think the words, 'plane spotter' would spring to mind.

He didn't give us the registrations of any of the planes, so please feel
free to tell us how that makes this a plane spotting exercise, on the other
hand it was a photograph, and no matter what it was a photograph of, it is
still a Photograph, therefore I personally think that it belongs in a
photography NG much more than in a Planespotting NG.

He didn't just say anything to anyone, he showed a photograph to people in a
Photography NG, giving details of the photograph and why it had been taken.
HAD he gone into a bar and said all that, or even showed the photograph
around the bar, then most people would just think he was a dickhead.
If you took one of your photo's, assuming you have some, into a Bar and
showed them to everyone, what reaction do you think you would get?
The subject of the Photograph does not determine whether or not it should be
in a Photography NG, and this group is alt.photography, not
    Alt.photography.aslong.asitsnot.ofaircraft

It is a very boring photo, made worse by the 'story'. Luckily *this*
post made the whole thread interesting.

    What?

Am I seeing the same photo as you?

Four tails of aircraft, parked at an airport, at night, exactly as you
would expect to see, if you, hung around, at an airport, at night.

For INTERESTING pictures of aircraft, may I suggest:

    http://www.airliners.net/search/photo.search?sort_order=views+desc&nr_of_photos=737499

These are all real BTW, and, erm, not one TAIL picture in the first
    500 most popular :p

You know what they say Brian, a picture is worth a thousand words, so let it
    speak for itself.
