    Hi,

Ok, there seems to be a bit of conflicting data here.

The Sylvania ECT 3200K 500watt photofloods have a life of 60 hours on the
box, but someone mentioned i should cut that in half, just to be safe...so
about 30-40 hours. And i should keep a record.

The GE ECI 3200K 500watt photofloods seem to be the exact same thing, but
the expected life is not on the package.

Some unknowledgable cashiers seem to have confused these with the 3400K
"blue" bulbs, which are supposed to only last 3-4 hours.

But if it says 3200K on the bulb, i should expect at least 30-40 hours,
    right?

  2. How critical is the colour balance to you? That determines what the
    answer is for you.

    pretty critical.

But the major point is: 3200K bulbs should have an average life of 30-40
    hours.

  4. Photoflood bulbs last only a few hours (8 or 10) at most.

Well, the package says 60 hours, and the folks a Keeble and
Schuket informed me to cut that in half to be safe.

The 3400K blue bulbs are the ones that only last 3-4 hours.
