using slave flash units

Discussion in 'Photography' started by Jeff MacVicar, Jul 20, 2003.

  1. I'm having to do some group family portraits indoors. I have three small
    slave flash units to use with the main flash on my slr. can anyone advise on
    exposure. I plan on using the slaves one on each side as fill and one to
    lighten up the background. What kind of adjustment to apeture do I need to
    make to acount for the extra light. Should I expose for the main flash only
    or close down 1 or 2 stops?
    any comments appreciated
    Jeff

  2. Lighting people like you're doing copies of old pictures isn't the best
    way.
