In the 1950's-60's many U.S. companies purchased buyout libraries from
the U.K. They then reissued this music on their own record labels for
sale to the U.S. market. Two perfect examples are the Capitol Hi-Q
series and Major Records (owned by Valentino). The latter has been
reissued on 113 CD's under the "Evergreen" label. Believe it or not,
there are alot of enthusiasts out there who actually collect and enjoy
listening to this British "light music" from the 1950's-70's. Yes, I'm
one of those people. Which is the purpose of my writing this. Because
a good chunk of the Evergreen library contains artists I listen to
(George Chase, Roger Roger, Piero Umiliani, John Cacavas, Cyril
Watters, Frank Samuels, etc.). Unfortunenately it seems that my only
option for buying any of this music is the $2500 deal. You could argue
if my taste in music weren't so weird, I could just walk into the
local Wal-Mart and buy a disc, But......
So my question is this: Does anyone have Valentino's "Evergreen"
library in their collection? Maybe we could talk and work out a deal?
I'd love to hear from you.
