I have been trying unsucessfully to capture video from my camcorder but cant
control the camera from the video editing software.
Software I have tried is Ulead Videostudio 7 and FastTrak Video 2.0 deluxe.
The camcorder is a mini DV JVC GR-D50EK. Connection is by USB and OS Windows
    XP Pro.
There is nothing wrong with the link to the camera as I can capture via USB
via the software supplied with the the camcorder, only the software is crap.
    Any help would be appreciated.
    TIA

  2. First off, have you checked online? Tech support for Ulead and JVC may have
info and/or patches for you. Also, look for a compatability list. Sometimes
you'll see disclaimers like "our software works with your camera. Pretty
    much. But won't control yours."
When I used Pinnacle Studio, there was a setup exercise that you had to run
through with your vidcam. Have you done that?
