I have a Pinnacle (Dazzle) DVC 80 USB capture device and a notebook PC
running Windows XP and Mandrake Linux 10.1 . Are there any applications for
either OS that will allow me to play the audio and video connected to the
capture device? I don't want to capture, just view/listen in real time.

That looks like a good app, but it doesn't seem to support my capture device
(maybe it doesn't support USB devices).

Well here's another application that you 'may' find supports your USB
    capture device.

Windows Media Player Classic freeware from:
    http://www.divx-digest.com/software/media_player_classic.html

I just tested it on my laptop with a cheapo USB webcam and it worked first
    time.

Once installed use the File menu > Open Device to start the capture mode.
