Can someone here recommend a very configurable Video recorder Screen\ngrab tool? Something that can be configured to output a variety of\nvideo formats. (Including Quick Time sorensen3 would be a big plus)\n\nI'm asking a lot of this tool; it needs to be able to perform light\nediting of the resulting recording. Like chopping out parts or\nlopping off extra silence at the end where it wasn't turned off in\ntime.\n\nIf that proves hard to find, then a second tool that is a light weight\n*.avi editor, not a full NLE, but something similar to what Quick Time\npro can do with *.mov. Basic edits to *.mov files and save to the\nsame file.\n\nI have tried a variety of downloadable trials and bought two.\nCapturePad for example, can only output *.avi (for video formats) and\ncannot be made to use certain codecs. Example being an onboard\nCanopus DV codec, that never shows up in the list.\n\nRiver Past recorder seems good and it can output a few formats, Divx\n*.avi *.dv. *.wmv. But no quicktime.\n\nNeither of the above has any editing or conversionn capability at all.\n\nSo, I'm hoping to hear from an experienced user who can vouch for a\ntools usability.
