Visioneer calibration failed

    I have a model 3100 scanner that someone gave me and after finding a
    power supply and data cable, I installed the Paperport software. It
    gives an error code #7 indicating a calibration error. Noticing that
    the lamp is somewhat RED, I am wondering if this is not indicative of a
    bad lamp? The lamp is bright, but has the reddish tinge unlike other
    scanners I have used. Thanks.
