Water Drops Photographic Exercise - Who's tried it?

Discussion in 'Photography' started by Paul Michaels, Jun 28, 2007.

  1. I was looking at some of my previous water drop pictures and thinking
trying it again. My favorite technique is placing different items
under the glass bowl to get some color in the pictures. I used things
    like dollars, magazines, and cloth.

    Here's some of mine - http://www.paulstravelpictures.com/Water-Drops/index.html

I think I need a zoom lens so I can get a closer shot of the drop
jumping in air. Right now I have a 28-80mm on my D100.

That's a zoom lens. Assuming you're using it at 80mm, and you're as
close as it will let you focus, a closeup filter or extension tubes will
let you get closer, but it might end up wet in which case you want a
longer lens (not necessarily zoom) with macro focussing capability.
