Hot damn Doug, with competition as keen as he is why don't you upgrade
your pro equipment and not continue to use the same stuff as him?

Sorry, but it doesn't. It will just continue on and when he finally
learns that you do not build a viable business by blindly undercutting
the competition and goes broke, there will be another one and another
    one and another one.

I've seen this happen in other areas as well.

    Nice one Terry...
It might have a little better (for you) if you'd actually looked at
    the photo!

I guess when you don't crop shots in Photoshop, there's a different
    tilt on the subject!

I think Douggie was probably asking him for tips, you have to hate it when
someone is shooting over your shoulder when you have spent ages setting up
    the perfect shot ;-)

How ironical ...this is the result of the crap that went on
recently... I've got some very interesting and highly amusing shots
from this Maori wedding right along with permission from the wedding
party to publish them but after the theft and crap from the very
people who would now like to see some of them, I won't publish any but
the odd shot like this one.

The real tragedy of this group is not that a couple of people can't
control their attitude but that those who have been most vocal in
condemnation and humiliation of other people and their photos - All
four of the mongrels - are the ones who post the least pictures,
provide the least knowledge and contribute zero the the group's
content themselves but are responsible for the group's general demise
    in topics related to photography.

    <end of rant>

The boy came from NZ for the wedding. Along with more really
frightening looking but amazingly friendly people than I've ever had
the pleasure of photographing in one group. Teaming rain for 5 hours
before the ceremony. The rain stopped, the wind roared up the river
and then, as the bride arrived in a gondola, nature calmed down and
the ceremony took place. Unbelievable! The Maori Gods seem to be a
hell of lot more powerful than the ones around here!

    OK
Two cretins who took objection to me a few years ago, downloaded one
of my client's wedding proofs and from the 300+ that were there, they
used 15 or so to create a string of sites forging my name and using
disgusting captions to the photos. One of them has reached an
agreement with me not to repeat the feat but not before I retaliated.
The other is still active and avails himself of every opportunity to
post lies and defamation about me. Usenet is after all the last,
    lawless frontier.

The one thing that is clear out of this... Never post any photos to
the Internet you are not comfortable with people taking and using for
their own purposes. The security I had in place didn't work. No
security will prevent determined thieves from stealing. I won't name
the person who settled with me but I will name the mongrel still
    active.

He originally began defaming me from a his (SA Government) employer's
workstation using the name of Charles Stevens. A year later he moved
to Queensland and surfaced as Mark Thomas. His lies, slander and
    defamation proliferate the newsgroups newsgroups.

With idiots like this lurking in cyberspace, no person who has
identified themselves (I did to comply with Aussie trade laws) and is
in business, is likely to risk legal action from their clients when
one of these idiots takes a photo and proceeds to ridicule the people
    in it.

You really have too much time on your hands Doug, you really love
playing the victim. My bet is you are one of these people that bring
up there own problems if someone has a whinge to you about something.

You never know Monk... You just never know.
There is always the possibility I actually have a legitimate issue
    here.
But then you could also be right too. No doubt anyone effected will
    make up their own mind.

Whatever the answer really is, Mark Thomas has impacted on how a lot
of people previously providing their real identity on the Internet,
now hid it with names like you invented. I imagine in that vein, he
has some purpose to his presence here.

  19. Funny how it is only *you* that has the problem with me, Doug. Even
here, you went off on a rant, deliberately falsified and exaggerated
your sob story, and made people wonder what you are on (or perhaps NOT
    on..)

    You're a bloody sook.

I find it highly ironic that *you* are the one who has used over 90
    identities so far to:
    - pretend your business is booming
    - defend your indefensible claims and misinformation
    - make a complete bloody fool of yourself - witness "Julian Abbot"...

    Where is Julian nowadays? (O;

  20. PS - I really like your new advertising technique - using the words
"Brisbane wedding photography" in every subject - take you a while to
think that one up? But a quick question - is this the best image you
got from your last wedding shoot?

    http://www.weddingsnportraits.com.au/

I'm a little underawed - don't you think the fake blurring is a little
obvious, and shouldn't you take a little more care with your masking -
    eg her shoulder?

If it was me, I'd be putting my best work there. If that's your
    best...

    Good luck with the advertising.
