I have a dvd that is able to play jpg's and mp3 besides audio. I put this copy
of a wedding in and it won't play. I then tried my dvd rom in my computer and
it did play...why? I'd prefer to see it on my large screen. I realize i maybe
able to do that by connecting a cable from my s-video output to the input of
my large screen, but I guess I would have to have the computer on also, because
of the menu choices of the dvd. Is there another solution?

chances are that your dvd is a dvd+r and your dvd player doesnt play them or
vice versa. do you know anything about this or not?

You thought that all by yourself? Now, why didn't I think of that?

Because I am a genious and you are not.

O.K. Sorry for my humor. Not everyone likes it.

Like a previous poster already mentioned, check if your player supports
    the media:
If it does, check if the DVD mastering has been done according to DVD
    standards (e.g. bitrate audio+video < 9.8Mbs).
One of my DVD players does not like DVD-R media (even though the
manufacturer says its supported) but likes DVD-RW media. I suggest you
keep feeding it different media and see which ones work best.
Often it depends on the brand. Some brands of media work some dont.

Hope I made up for my first post ;-)
