Took this one yesterday with the Fabulous EOS-1V.

It was a beautiful day yesterday with clear signs of Spring all
    around.
Today it suddenly got cold and windy and tonight they are calling for
a few possible snow showers. Maybe tomorrow I'll go shoot the
    penguins down at the Aquarium.

  2. Looks more like a Camellia than a Rose :)
but all in all a nice shot, nice and clear.

Call me a Luddite if you wish but I love that camera! Anytime you tire
of it, I'd be more than happy to take it off your hands.
Gorgeous rose! Looks like a hybrid of some kind. The colors are
outstanding with that bold red rose against that beautiful blue
background. Very sharp, I can almost smell it. Beautiful!

    Well shit!
"Reflection Riding Camellia" doesn't have the alliterative attraction
    as "Reflection Riding Red Roses."

You sound like some of those old hens in the photo club I used to
belong to. You could show them a flower pic and they'd not only tell
you what kind of flower it was, but also where you took the pic.

It's a Camellia and to me, the back ground is extremely distracting.
