Anyone out there doing live concert video/audio recording? What setup have
u had the most success with? I'm on a small scale right now doing local
acts and other events, but would like to move up when the time's right.
Currently I'm using a Fostex hard Disk recorder for direct sound and RODE
NT4 mic for ambient audio and Canon L2s for video. I capture the audio in
post thru SPDIF in on a MOTU 828 mix and master on Mackie HR824s in
    Sonar3(as much as needed anyway)

  2. Some pix of my larger video system are online at....

I also have a smaller unit using a Sony SE-2000 switcher and
2-3 cameras (Sony DXC-3000, etc.) Recording on Sony DSR20
DVCAM VCR. Sometimes also do single-camera with a Sony
DSR-300. Both the DSR units record audio at 48k x 16-bit.

For audio I use an Alesis HD24 recorder for multi-track or DAT
or direct recording on my laptop computer for live stereo mixes.
A couple of Mackie mixers and a bundle of different mics including
a pair of classic Sony C37A tube condensers.

For post-production, I use CoolEdit Pro/Adobe Audition for audio
and Adobe Premiere 6.5 for video NLE and Encore for DVD
authoring. And CheetahBurner for writing audio CDs.
