Can anyone suggest the best place to buy a D300 from at the moment.

Anywhere in Australia would be OK.

Heard there was problems with stock levels and that prices are all
    over the place.

    Thankyou in advance.

yep rare as hens teeth at the moment. Have you thought of stretching a
    little further for a 10D?

Do you really need the 300D urgently?
If not, wait a bit and see after PMA.
[maybe around April for the price to become a reality]

I think 300D price might go down a bit, as Nikon already release its
    counterpart.

I have a Digital Rebel For Sale which is the American Version of the
300D for AU$1500 including the lens kit. Its sparingly used in the 3.5
months that I have had it and in excellent condition. If interested,
you can contact me at . Also I have a Thread
started on EYO on all my Canon equipment for sale, if you want to have
    a look.
