Where can I find reasonably priced studio lighting equipment in
Melbourne? (e.g. light stand, backdrop) Also, are there 2nd-hand shops?

    Thanks.

    eBay ;)

Are you looking for high-quality professional gear, or 'consumer'
quality stuff from lesser known brands?

Vanbar sells Bowens, Elinchrom, Paterson etc.
Adeal sells at least Elinchrom, not sure about others.
Baltronics sells a few different types and also hires it out.

Croydon Camera House sells some strobes but they're cheaper ones. I dont
know if they're good or not, since I've never used them before. There's
probably a few photo shops around that sell gear like that, the kind of
'serious amateur' shops that carry more than a few camera bodies.

    Cheers,

    Scott.

    Hi Scott,

I don't think I can afford pro gear. And, I don't need strobes at the
moment. I'm looking for stands and backdrops.

I think I'll pay Vanbar a visit. I've nearly forgotten this shop!

    Thanks

Oh sorry, when you said 'lighting gear' I just assumed you wanted
strobes or lights. I didnt notice you mentioned stands and backdrops!
Yeah, they've got some good stuff in there (but mostly Nikon gear
    unfortunately!)

    Hi Scott,

I found a shop called DragonImage at Collingwood.
Their price and range are good.
