    Hello,

Can anyone recommend a place to get prints made from digital images, either
in a shop or over the internet. I have seen a few places and the prices
seem quite expensive, ranging from 15-45p+ per print (as I haven't had any
prints made in the two years I have had the camera I have quite a few to
do). These are just holiday snaps and the like, so a professional lab is
not really called for (although obviously the prints should look nice :).
Also, I note that some of the over-the-net services only do glossy as
    opposed to matt finishes.

One other question about these on-line services: they all seem to provide a
software photo uploader. Do these tend to alter the image resolution or
jpeg compression before uploading to save bandwith etc (I understand that
these uploaders allow cropping and the like) or do they upload exactly what
    you supply them with ?

    thanks

    Mike

    try www.photobox.co.uk

Just want to second that reommendation - photobox seem to produce
quality prints - good turnaround speed to.. Have done a good job for me
on photos as well as full A3 size, full resolution 3D images rendered
out of Lightwave (hobby of mine).

Have been quite stunned at the quality - I for one will carefully
consider the need to buy a high end photo quality printer when mine
gives up the ghost. It's easier and faster (and in my case similar in
price if you work out paper/ink etc.) to use an online outfit.

    Cheers

Steve (not connected to photobox - just pleased with service)

  6. A friend recommended http://www.pixum.com in Germany.
Charges 3 Euros for shipping (2 if order over 20 Euros),prices are ok,
Prices for large format is unbeatable: 20x34 cm is only 1.45 Euro !!!

And paper is top notch. They will cut your images to size,
and you pay for the short side (the long can be up to 1,7 times
longer). So I have found my new developer.

    Mike,

I have just had a rapid turnaround from Bonusprint. I am impressed
with the quality of their 6x4 prints at 15p each.

I made up a CD of images that I had tweaked with Photoshop and posted
them on a Sunday. They were mixed. Some were scanned from negatives
and some were from a digital camera. (So the ratios were different.)
All came back on the Thursday.

    I shall use Bonusprint again.
