Which camera bag for a DSLR, 3 lenses and flash?

Discussion in 'Digital SLR' started by Stanislav Meduna, Dec 14, 2005.

  1. Hi,

I have recently upgraded to a DSLR and now have the following:

    Konica Minolta Dynax (Maxxum) 7D
    Sigma 70-200 2.8 EX (quite huge, ~20 x 10 cm)
    Tamron SP 28-75 2.8
    Minolta HS3600 flash
and I plan to buy some decent wideangle in a few months

Can anyone recommend a bag that can conveniently
hold the above and is available in Europe?
I would like it to hold the camera with the 70-200
attached, so I don't need to change lenses only
beause I want to pack the camera.

    http://www.tamrac.com/706.htm looks like a possible
choice, unfortunately I did not found a shop carrying
    it yet.

I use a Lowepro Mini Trekker AW to carry all my gear around in.

    Lowepro Website

This includes my Canon EF-S 60mm Macro, EF-S 18-55mm Kit Len, Sigma
18-200mm DC F3.5-5.6 and my new Canon EF 70-300mm USM IS. The 70-300
USM IS seems to spend the most time on the my 350D at the moment, but
then it's the newest lens which I'm still getting used to.

I still have plenty of space for a Canon Flash unit in there, a couple
of spare batteries, memory cards etc. And the best thing IMO is that
the compartments can be adjusted to suit your gear.

    Hope it helps!

Not sure if it's available in Europe, but I have a Domke F-6 that holds my
    Canon 5D, Canon 24-70 f2.8L, 70-200 f2.8L IS, Canon 20-35 f2.8L, 580EX,
Sunpak TR-2000 battery pack, spare batteries for both the Sunpak and the
camera, assorted small tools, memory cards, etc. My Domke J-2 will hold the
    above, plus a 20D.
Check out KATA, the MC-604, 60 or 61 look like they might work for you.

I think they're made in Israel.
I've been looking for somebody here (San Diego) who carries them, but no one
does. Calumet said they'd order one for me, but I hate to do that without
    actually seeing the bags...

Kata R-102 or R-103 if you also want space for a laptop.

Go for the Lowepro Mini-trekker AW. Perfect bag for what you have.

    I put the Nikon F100, D70, 70-200mm f/2.8VR, 28-70mm f/2.6, 16mm
fisheye, 18-70mm DX and SB-800 into it with room to spare. It also has a
system that allows you to strap a medium size tripod onto it, plus
sliplock loops for other Lowepro accessories.
