Thanks for your collective input on previous questions which resolved
outstanding questions on CS II upgrade which is in the mail from Adobe,
the Coolscan 9000 ED for which a budget as been made (no credit
purchases here) and now the Subject issue.

I had been led to understand that the Epson Stylus Pro 2400, 4800 et al
was pretty uniformly considered to be THE standand for Fine Art
printers. Has this changed recently? I've been reading a number of
articles extoling the superiority of HP and Canon printers.

    Thanks for the input.

I own a Photo 2400. I bought this after trying out the nearest canon
competition. The Canon was not too bad but quality was compromised for
extra speed. I did not feel the output was all that brilliant. I have yet
to see a b&w printout better than that of the Photo 2400. Absolutely spot
on. I bought this printer rather than the Photo 1800 purely for it's
superior b&w output. I have yet to fault the colour output either.
