Which microphone for a JVC GR DV4000?

Discussion in 'Video Cameras' started by Mikkel Z. Herold, Mar 23, 2007.

  1. I have a JVC GR DV4000 and I want to get an external mic.

The original MZ-V5 or MZ-V3 are probably the best choice, but they are a
bit hard to come by and also perhaps a bit over my budget, so I was
wondering if it is possible to get a generic microphone that will fit in
the shoe - and if so, which is the best buy?

Well you don't need a shoe if yours isn't standard fit (I don't know
your camera so I have no idea), you could get a bracket from someone
    like Keene.

As for the mic, the RODE Videomic seems favourite on various forums,
mono, or there is a stereo version.
