been waiting to here from jessops for 3 weeks regarding a job interview.
Given a date to come in and see a store manager. Kick ass! ;)

Wondering already how to spend his staff discount.

  2. May your God have mercy on your soul.
Buy as many long flash sync cords as you can. They will make a handy escape
route, garroting weapon, and at a pinch can make a noose to end the pain of
it all. Oh, and one of those Olympus dictaphones so you can record your most
repeated answers to questions and play them back when the inevitable
    laryngitis sets in.

    Have fun!

Don't get too excited until you have the job! Sounds like it would be fun
    though!

There's a camera store that I would like to work for in town. It is really
laid back. The employees never trash the other brands to sell you a product
with a higher margin and they love to talk photos and gear as they are avid
shooters themselves. OTOH, the chain of stores in my area have some have
less knowledgeable and apathetic sales people. I remember once they were
telling a customer "no you don't wan the Minolta camera, they are often
returned for repairs, you want this xxx model hear. They once told a friend
that his prints had grey skys due to the sky itself and the exposure (air
show pix). I examined the negs and scanned a couple frames for him. The negs
were spot on and the scans resulted in beautiful blue skies. They were just
trying to wiggle out of having to do reprints. Sad.

That's what you get for chewing gum while walking into the store for
    the interview.

  8. Wondering if working at a camera store is anything like working in a candy
factory... can't face the stuff all too soon. Hope that doesn't happen to
    you.. <grin>

    Good luck!

Jessops? You must be in Britain...didn't know things were bad there, too.
    Good luck.

Congratulations and Good Luck :) And may all your customers be knowledgable
and happy ones and your manager spot your keen talents and give you a raise
    :)...

....And don't forget to play with all the cameras and let us know what you think
    ;-)

    Regards,

Either that, or they realised you knew what film was.
