XLR adapter for the XL1-S?

  1. Hi there,

Does anyone know of a good XLR microphone adapter for the Canon XL1-S DV
camera? I know that Canon do their own adapters (the MA-100, -200 and -300)
but none of them have phantom power or the ability to switch between line
    and mic level inputs.

    Here's my ideal XLR adapter:

    - 48v phantom power
    - switchable between mic and line level inputs
    - at least 2 channels, 4 would be cool
    - powered directly from the camera
    - power efficient
    - attaches to the XL1-S in an elegant way

Does anyone know of any adapters that fulfil at least half of these
    requirements?

    Thanks,
    Jack

My solution consists in an Ma-100 plus an expernal phantom power supply.
The cable goes from the mic to the phantom supply and then to the adapter.
Works fine and the power supply works with batteries or power cable, it
costs about 60$ and it's big as two cigarette boxes.

  3. Cool, thanks for the info.

Do you ever get problems with ground loops causing you to pick up mains hum?

    Thanks,
